Yamuna Expressway Authority allots 2 out of 5 data centre plots, eyes Rs 1,757 crore investment
The action will bring in Rs 59.17 crore for the authority. The Authority stated that an investment of Rs 1,757.45 crore is planned on these two data center sites, which is expected to create 775 employment.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted two out of five data centre plots in Sector 28 of the Delhi suburb, a move that will fetch the authority Rs 59.17 crore revenue.
According to the authority, an investment of Rs 1,757.45 crore is proposed on these two data centre plots that will generate an estimated 775 jobs.
The Yamuna Expressway connects Noida and Agra. YEIDA launched a scheme on September 27, 2023, for the sale of five data center plots in Sector 28 along this route. The scheme closed on October 26. Three plots totaling 20,000 square meters were available, along with one each of 40,000 and 1,25,660 square meters.
The authority observed that out of the 20,000 square meter plots, just three applications were received.
Based on interviews and assessments of the company profiles, the plots were distributed. On November 7, the allocation committee met and interviewed candidates, reviewing their biographies in order to create a shortlist.

According to the authorities, two businesses in the data center industry, Sify Infinite Spaces Limited and Jackson Limited, were determined to be eligible and were so given the data center plots D10 and D9, respectively, for development.
Plot D9 was allocated at Rs 14,088 per sq m, whereas plot D10, the data center, was allotted at a reserve price of Rs 15, 497 per sq m.
